Each one of us is alive because we, as souls, have chosen to incarnate into the unique physical bodies that we see. But this not a random act of nature–it is by agreement with God/Allah/Creator. Thus, a soul contract is created.

Each of us has numerous soul contracts that are stored in a Chamber of Contracts within our soul’s Akashic library. Some contracts detail the race, appearance, health conditions, strengths and weaknesses and size and shape of your body. Others detail your family members you agreed to incarnate and live with, while others detail the traumas you, as a soul, chose to endure, the relationships of all kinds you chose to grow and learn from and even each of the countless strangers who will cross your path for a reason. And the demons, dark spirits and spirits and spirit guides you will mingle with throughout your journey.

Simply put, your soul contracts are your life’s covenant with God. They cannot be voided until they either expire or are fulfilled. This is why understanding your soul contracts, your agreements, is so important to understand how to fulfill your dharma, your chosen purpose and mission.

In the Vedic tradition from India, there is a teaching of the maya veil. The maya veil is the veil of forgetfulness; the threshold that every soul passes through before its next body is born.
